In a Wednesday post on X, Merrick detailed where XRP is headed and why its role in global finance is growing. Director of Ripple highlighted XRP’s continued role as a bridge asset connecting real-world finance to emerging digital markets.

He stated that XRP actively supports stablecoins, Real Resources (RWA)and large-scale institutional payment flows. He also noted that these employ cases show that cryptocurrency is moving beyond theory and towards practical financial infrastructure.

Merrick emphasized this in his post growing dynamics of Exchange-Traded Funds (ETFs) strengthens institutional participation in XRP. He said more and more corporate treasuries are now using cryptocurrency as a reserve asset, signaling that adoption is still in the early stages.

Merrick pointed out that all these changes lay the groundwork for XRP price prospects. By placing cryptocurrency at the center of global settlement and liquidity, increased institutional demand may escalate market dynamics, which will result in an escalate in the price of XRP over time. Moreover, the Ripple executive believes that these changes are just the beginning, which suggests further development of XRP.

It is worth noting that Merrick’s statements were issued in response to broader discussion initiated by RippleX, the developer-focused arm of the crypto company. The thread explained the functional design of XRP and its role in global financial systems. RippleX emphasized that XRP was created specifically for settlement and liquidity, not speculation.

The team described the cryptocurrency as neutral bridge that enables value to flow between payment rails, stablecoins, tokenized assets and collateral around the world. RippleX also noted that XRP is one of the few digital assets they have clear regulatory position in the United States and ranks among the top three cryptocurrencies in terms of market capitalization.

RippleX further emphasized that XRP achieved its goal first institutional treasury via Evernorthwhich has secured liabilities worth over $1 billion. It also saw support from a number of spot ETF issuers, including Bitwise, Canary Capital, Franklin Templeton and Grayscale.

In his post, Merrick highlighted several factors favoring XRP’s growth, including ETFs, settlements, institutional adoption, and risk-weighted assets. Each of these events can support the XRP price in different ways.

First, ETFs could drive prices higher as investors buy more products to gain exposure to XRP without the typical security and regulatory risks.
