Pro-XRP lawyer John Deaton secured the Republican nomination for the United States Senate after a convincing primary victory. Deaton, who is a former Marine and represented 75,000 holders in the Ripple vs. US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) case, secured 64.6% of the vote, leaving his closest rival, industrial engineer Bob Antonellis, with 26.2%, and Quincy City Council Speaker Ian Cain, who won 9.2% of the vote, in a distant third.
The nomination positions Deaton as the candidate to challenge incumbent Democratic Sen. Elizabeth Warren in the November general election. The primary results, which Politico reported were over 92% of the vote, indicate a clear victory for Deaton, who has positioned himself as a stark contrast to Sen. Warren, especially on key issues.

Pro-XRP Lawyer Deaton vs. Warren
Following his victory, Deaton expressed gratitude to the electorate for their support and outlined the next steps of his campaign, emphasizing a return to unity and problem-solving in politics.
His statement “I am truly humbled by the outpouring of support and grateful for the confidence voters have placed in me. Tomorrow, we begin the next phase of the campaign—an effort to hold Elizabeth Warren accountable for her failures at the border, the unaffordable cost of raising a family, our broken health care system, the abandonment of our ally Israel, and to restore faith in our politics. Voters are turning away from divisive partisan politics and are ready to support a message of optimism, unity, and problem-solving.”
The response from the cryptocurrency community was swift and enthusiastic, with several celebrities joining in the celebration of Deaton’s victory. Caitlin Long, founder and CEO of Custodia Bank, congratulated Deaton via fasting on X: “CONGRATULATIONS John Deaton! AP has already called your race. It will be fun to see you face Elizabeth Warren in the general election. I hear she’s been out of the Democratic Party lately…”
Likewise, Mark Cuban, former principal owner and current minority owner of the Dallas Mavericks, passed on his congratulations: “Congrats John Deaton!!! Only 1 W left!” Also, Ryan Sean Adams, host of the Bankless podcast, said via X: “John Deaton vs. Elizabeth Warren is officially on. Maybe we can force the leader of the anti-crypto army into early retirement.”
In response to Deaton’s nomination, Warren’s campaign was quick to point out the cryptocurrency industry’s influence on the election. Her campaign manager, Janice Rottenberg, issued a statement highlighting the influx of funds from cryptocurrency-related entities and individuals who she claims are trying to influence the election to benefit their interests.
“A small handful of crypto-millionaires and corporate interests have poured more than $2 million into a super PAC to handpick their preferred Republican candidate, and now Massachusetts voters have a clear choice that could decide control of the Senate.” – Rottenberg he commented to AP.
Deaton’s campaign funding reflects significant support from the cryptocurrency sector, with top contributions coming from the likes of Ripple executives Chris Larsen and Brad Garlinghouse, as well as Gemini founders Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss. Deaton had raised about $1.7 million as of July 31, according to Federal Election Commission records.
It’s worth noting that Warren has accepted two debate proposals in Boston and Springfield. The incumbent senator is known for her anti-crypto stance, which she has demonstrated in numerous bills in recent years. Deaton could be a major figure for the crypto industry by ending the Warren regime.
At the time of going to press, XRP was priced at $0.5537.
