BitBasel + VESA

Associated with the southern beach

This year, BitBasel will take over the entire Sagamore Hotel in Miami South Beach for an entire week. The last show I attended with BitBasel was at the Miami Bitcoin Center in 2019, so returning to an exhibition with these pioneers is valuable. I also had no idea how predictable mine was keynote then it was supposed to be about what will be shown now. It’s groundhog day with bananas and a repeat of Dante’s circles of hell in an attempt to facilitate humanity get out of reverse mode. A worthy fight. Only legends 🚀

While this journey has been crazy from the start and has required me to repeat some basics over and over again, as the ETH scene continues to erode, fortunately there are people who see what I’m doing and support me perspective be part of it all. Thanks a lot for Leaks and Scarlett for including me in the program in 2024.

Back to the future

Pay attention to what’s on screen during my 2019 talk on all things decentralized at BitBasel

Back then I commented a lot about how the world was on fire, how we needed to fix the monetary system, about the beginnings of creativity, about how artificial intelligence would replace most low-end lawyers, accountants, etc. within five years, and how the banana madness of the art world could not possibly fail lower. Boy, was I wrong – again – on this one. The art world seems to have found modern ways to bottom out in the Web3 space. At least back then SuperRare was still just starting out with hope. My naive self still believed back then that blockchain would bring greater transparency to the art world. A LOT OF LAUGHTER.

Either way, both God’s Touch and Banana were featured in my slides during the presentation, and now they will be part of BitBasel 2024 as a combined work of art. In the article, he comments on how the West has lost its way and explores what we can do to revitalize it. The opposite of the great reverse is the avant-garde and that’s why I’m here. Eventually everyone will see it and take it for granted. In the meantime, I must double down on my role as an artist and cultural critic. It’s a weird position, but someone has to do it.

I am Potency

I am Potency will be put up, now in disrepute after SuperRare’s precious failure.
The NFT comes with a physical print on canvas, painted with acrylic, that triggers an AR animation.

I recently wrote an article here titled “Evidence of Censorship” on this topic.
Here is the longer original tweet as my “submitted work“for the competition.

BitRam!

The second exhibit is the so-called live NFT version BitRam graphics that slightly reimagine Bitcoin’s animal history. BTC continues to flow, breaking modern numerical records, but most importantly, it is fighting to ensure that the alternative space is marked as secure from the fiat inflation machine.

The original animation features a physical, hand-finished work of art on canvas that can be launched in AR via the Artivive app.
Price: 9 ETH

Physical repaint of BitRam (1/3 sold) on display in Switzerland at the Swiss Web3 Conf earlier in 2024 during Art Basel. 2/3 is now available and married with Animation 1/1 NFT on sale at BitBasel.

Renaissance 360

Lecks also asked me to bring material from the metaverse to the screen, which I was very ecstatic about. A compilation of the best films created to date by Asvoria (released soon), Superworld and Cornerstone Land will be presented as part of a larger metaverse film.

Why are we not allowed to ask the most basic questions in art? Why can’t we be inspired by perfection, beauty, harmony and spirit? Time and time again we just enjoy this mud like pigs without a future. At least pigs get some nutrients and skin care from their play, while we are confined to animals without instincts.

Proof of effort

Tropical from 2017 was the first Miami-related work I ever created. The 2/3 repaint is still available and is priced at 1 BTC. I kept the idea I had that some of the early works would maintain a thread up to a price of 1 BTC when purchased from me. Of course, I had to start creating others without it, because about 10 thousand. it’s the constant “fuck money” that people on stage exploit for artistic purposes. However, these works are of a historical nature, so if you want to participate in this action, I advise you to do so! I’ve kept them here last, so it’s only through collecting effort that you’ll even get to them.

Also eternal respect to Moe Levin, the founder North America Bitcoin Conferencefor giving me the first place to showcase my art in January 2018. Nice to have a fan also in Joel from the Bad Crypto podcast lurking in the background 😂 The signed 1/50 scale print was given to Moe as a gift.

At a price of 100 thousand re-painting 6×3 feet is still economical compared to what some of the earliest holistic jobs will ultimately cost once the dust settles a bit.
