The integration of blockchain technology and sports gaming continues as the international soccer federation has partnered with a renowned cryptocurrency gaming studio to create a up-to-date soccer game for mobile users.
Football enthusiasts are eagerly awaiting the free-to-play blockchain-based football game that is expected to be released next year.
FIFA rivals
The up-to-date, free mobile football game will debut in the summer of 2025. Crypto gaming company and international football organization Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) have developed a mobile application called FIFA rivals.
Reports suggest that FIFA Rivals will be similar to NFL Rivals, which was also developed by Mythical Games and released in April 2023.
Apple iOS and Android smartphone users can access the Polkadot-powered mobile soccer game.
The crypto company said the up-to-date mobile football game will take advantage of Mythos blockchain technology and the Polkadot network. The same technology was also used to create the NFL Rivals game.

Similarly, FIFA’s rivals will be built on the same technology and on the same Mythos blockchain.
FIFA Rivals will allow mobile players to manage soccer clubs, according to crypto studio, saying users will also be able to compete with other players in “real-time” arcade gameplay.
“Build your squad, dominate the competition and create your legacy in the newest title” Mythical games he said.

Potential 100 million players
The director of Mythical Games predicted that FIFA Rivals will attract over 100 million players.
Crypto gaming CEO John Linden explained that FIFA Rivals’ over 100 million players are possible because the comparable mobile game, NFL Rivals, has over 6 million sign-ups from a much narrower audience.
Very proud of the collaboration @FIFAcom! Thanks to this game, we will take gaming and e-sports to a very global level! We have over 6 million players and 150 million games played in NFL Rivals, and now we have over 100 million players and tens of billions of games! @FIFARivals

For comparison, the 2022 FIFA World Cup attracted approximately 5 billion viewers, and last year’s NFL playoffs were watched by an estimated 500 million viewers.
Blockchain and the sports trend
The FIFA and Mythical Games partnership is just one of a growing number of collaborations between cryptocurrency players and sports associations, providing fans with a more interactive and fun experience.
The partnership is part of a growing trend of sports associations collaborating with blockchain gaming studios that aim to provide fans with fun and interactive experiences.
One of the benefits of cryptocurrency games is that players can “own in-game assets and monetize them.”
Crypto gaming studio found success at Blankos Block Party. The company explained that it is an immutable token game that has been ported to Polkadot with at least 3 million transactions per month.
The up-to-date mobile football game became a reality thanks to the Mythos Foundation launched in October 2022, which aimed to support up-to-date players and developers in the Mythical Games ecosystem.
