Cryptocurrency legislation becomes the focal point in Novel York, and Bill A7788 would mean the second legislation focused on cryptocurrencies in just over a month.
In March, Novel York presented Bill A06515, aimed at establishing criminal penalties in order to prevent cryptocurrency fraud and protecting investors against carpets.
Legislation focused on cryptography gained pace since President Donald Trump took office on January 20, and Trump signaled during his campaign that his administration intends to make cryptocurrency policy with national priority, and also make the US a global center of Blockchain innovation.

Novel York can authorize a state “service fee” for cryptographic payments
If it is adopted, the Act would mean a significant change in the way Novel York supports digital resources. This would allow entities to integrate cryptocurrency with payment infrastructure used to collect public funds.
The proposal also contains a clause that allows you to impose a service fee selecting paying with crypto. According to the text, the state may require “a service fee not exceeding the costs incurred by the state in connection with the cryptocurrency payment transaction.” This may include transaction costs or fees due to cryptographic issuers.
The assembly of the A7788 Act was directed to the Commission of the Congregation for review and can advance to the State Senate as the next step.
Novel York legislation appears shortly after the Illinois state adopted the cryptocurrency law in order to fight fraud and carpets after the last wave of confidential programs related to Memecoins, Cointelegraph informed on April 11.
