The identity of the leaders behind the Shiba Inu project has remained a mystery since the project’s inception, from its pseudonymous founder Ryoshi to current lead developer Shytoshi Kusama. Since Ryoshi stepped away from the project and the limelight, Shytoshi Kusama has taken the reins, leading the project. However, it seems that the lead developer’s tenure may also be short-lived after a recent announcement that could see Kusama leave the project as well.
Lead Shiba Inu Developer May Leave Project
In the statement that was released by lead developer Shytoshi Kusama revealed that his tenure at the helm of the Shiba Inu ecosystem will one day come to an end. The lead developer made the revelation alongside revelations about the plans the project currently has for its community.
Team Shiba Inu is planning a multi-location tour, starting in Kyoto, Japan, where the team held their first meeting and greed with the community. The tour, which the team has named the “Treat Yourself” tour, in reference to the upcoming launch of the TREAT token, will feature stops in multiple locations to engage with the community.
This route is just one of many things the team plans to accomplish to fulfill Ryoshi’s vision for the Shiba Inu ecosystem. Another achievement is the fully homomorphic encryption capability granted to all SHIB owners, which is possible thanks to the Zama AI encryption system.
In addition, the band plans to launch their own conference called “SHIBACON 2024.” According to the statement, the conference will be held in Thailand and will be the final stop on their 2024 “Treat Yourself” tour, which will take place around the same time as DevCon.
However, after this is completed, Shytoshi Kusama reveals that he will eventually have to step away from the spotlight, just like founder Ryoshi did. This will make Shiba Inu a self-sufficient, decentralized ecosystem that does not require any leader, just as SHIB’s founder intended.
How Ryoshi Left Space
Shiba Inu founder Ryoshi has managed to remain anonymous despite the meme coin project’s immense popularity. To further cement his anonymity, the SHIB founder has deleted all traces of his history from all of his social media accounts, including X (formerly Twitter) and Medium posts.
After this, Ryoshi completely disappeared from the community, leaving lead programmer Shytoshi Kusama in charge of the project. Before his disappearance, Ryoshi had previously hinted at this, saying, “I am not important, and one day I will leave without warning. Take SHIBA and travel upwards, friends.”
Interestingly, this act of disappearance is similar to that of Bitcoin founder Satoshi Nakamoto, who was vigorous for some time after the cryptocurrency’s launch. However, a year after Bitcoin’s launch in 2010, Nakamoto disappeared completely and has not been heard from since.
